First Nations print – Scars of Life

This is a postcard of a painting by an First Nations artist living on the Gold Coast. Jenny is a First Nations woman therefore she  designs her paintings based on her own dreamtime. For instance she may dream about where her family grew up. Her art work also involves story telling using different techniques also including dot painting.

The colours used are a reflection on how the story feels and the contrast she wants to display. She may print a sea scape and next may be a landscape.

Jenny wants to share stories and allow people to see a different type of art.  She  tells stories is a traditional way, for instance she may use symbols, colours and different techniques.
