Indigenous Postcard – On Country, Together

$2.50

Story
The elders told stories under the stars, stories that stitched Country and people together like a thread. The children learn by feeling – sand between toes, water on skin, wind carrying the voices of ancestors.

When one person was strong, all were strong. When someone needed help, many hands rose. Mob was family. Country was family to.

Indigenous print – On Country, Together

This is a postcard of a painting by an Indigenous artist living on the Gold Coast. Jenny is a First Nations woman therefore she  designs her paintings based on her own dreamtime. For instance she may dream about where her family grew up. Her art work also involves story telling using different techniques also including dot painting.

The colours used are a reflection on how the story feels and the contrast she wants to display. She may print a sea scape and next may be a landscape.

As an Indigenous artists Jenny wants to share stories and allow people to see a different type of art.  She  tells stories is a traditional way, for instance she may use symbols, colours and different techniques.
